My thoughts
With all the crime and senseless murders that's plaguing the youth in the DC area, and around the country, we have to agree that something has to be done to inspire and revive our youth. (They will be our future leaders ya' know)
Some teens seem to be of a poor mind set with little regard for life and the law. And I'm not sure what that is rooted in, but as adults, we have to find a way to show them a better path. It is not cool to get locked up, shot or shot at, robbed or involved with gang activity that is not of a positive nature.
I truly believe they are missing Arts exposure. (And I'm not biased) The "Arts" cover a lot of things, such as Music, Fine Arts, Fashion and other creative fields. Their choices should not be limited to a Doctor, Lawyer, football/basketball player, or CRIMINAL. More emphasis needs to be made on other paths. The youth needs to be immersed in positive activities and knowledge to prevent other non-productive activities and thoughts from surfacing. In other words, the youth needs something to do!
If I can plead with the parents to get their youngsters involved in something, besides NOTHING. It would do us all a world of good.
I know we as parents are tired, working adults, but if we don't inspire our children, who will? The streets will!! (if I can answer my own question)
So, my question to you is,
How are you inspiring the youth to reach greater heights?

I want to paint big, HUGE!
I've been feeling sorta restricted while painting on small canvas's now........ I want to spread the paint out, over a gigantic canvas, and see what comes forth. I see something GranD coming! I need a funder! Someone who can buy the huge canvas's and the gallons of paint that it would take to paint them. I'm going to do it though! I must expand!! I'm stretchting out!

The life of a creative individual
Its fall! And I've been so inspired by the fall colors, I can barely wait to mix up my favorite reds, oranges, yellows and browns to see what the canvas brings.. Cheers to Fall and the beautiful colors it brings forth!
This week is sure to be busy. I want to paint a few gifts for some very special people I recently met at the Kappa celebrity auction for their scholarship fund and I need to drop off "Musically Influenced" to the Whitman Walker clinic for this years Art for Life,.... and I need to order the huge canvas I've been eyeing for 3 months...
I can't wait to paint on that monster!!!
I guess its better to be busy doing something, than nothing at all.

A busy life is a fruitful life
Heeeey.... I just returned from NY and Philly, and with little rest, I got up to go snatch by new "Amberware" butter dish from colormemine in Adams Morgan .. Wow! I have to make more time do my Amberware. Its amazing to see the final prototypes. I am so pleased about and its potential
Amberware is not available for sale yet, as the product is still in development.

Premier photo shoot for AmberRugs Collection @ Pasargad!; 6 days left until Jafel Design Event!
Today was a phenomenal photo shoot. We arrived to Pasargad @ 10am and left @ 3pm. Jafel would like to give a big thanks to photographer Nick from Ajani Truth Photography also thanks to future super model Melinda for her energy in every shot. We also would like to give a huge thanks to David (owner of Pasargad) and staff for use of their venue as well as props and preparations during the shoot. Every picture came out extraordinary. Next up for Jafel is our new 2009 portfolio booklet which will be available for guests to look at our first premier collection Designer Event. Our next line up for Jafel: Premier AmberRugs Collection will be the spring- summer edition. Be on the look out in stores globally soon. These works of art made for the floor will beautify every space and place inside your mansion, office, loft, condo, apartment, hotel, night club and lounge.
